An update from the streets of Harrow Green
At Harrow Green, sustainability is at the forefront of everything we do. We are proud to share that we have just successfully laid the first roads at Harrow Green in partnership with Fulton Hogan and their Reduced Energy Asphalts (REA™).
20% less carbon emissions
The beauty of REA™ and why we selected it for Harrow Green is in its reduced carbon emissions, achieved through the manufacturing process and lower temperatures required. This results in up to 20% carbon reduction compared to regular asphalt. Further, REA™ is much safer with less dangerous fumes and lowered burn risk for staff laying it.
While REA is kinder to people and the planet, it doesn’t compromise on quality: REA™ technologies have been used around the world and locally the Christchurch Airport taxiways where strength is tested daily. The use of REA™ in a residential subdivision is a first in the South Island and we are proud to have achieved this environmentally sustainable milestone.
